When Dave first called me about this music video for The Sunshine Underground, I was intrigued by his noir style concept and LOVED the 80's vibe to the single but ultimately, being a West Yorkshire girl myself (The Sunshine Underground are based in Leeds), how could I refuse!
My job, was to create Make-up & Hair looks for the 3 girls and it was really important to channel the individual characters for each one. Dave had a really clear vision in his head of who the characters were and with the help of Annike's styling I really gained a clear idea of what these girls were about. This influenced not only the finished looks but also the types of products and techniques I used on each girl to keep on character.
A few of my favourite Make-up products used on the shoot were: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick - Good creamy coverage with a natural look. Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch Up Gel - Natural Brows. Estée Lauder Double Wear Light - Great coverage with amazing staying power with a matter finish whilst not being too heavy. Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover - Amazing full, matt coverage that lasts for hours on end. Estée Lauder Stay In Place Gel Eyeliner - Smooth application and long wear. Mac Lipsticks in Russian Red, Chilli and Film Noir. Mac Strobe Cream and Mac Blot Powders.
Fave products used for hair: A Sleek wig. Bumble & Bumble Tonic Lotion - To de-tangle and prep hair. Great on porous or coloured hair. Bumble & Bumble Thickening Hairspray - Pretty much does what it says on the tin. KMS Add Volume Styling Foam - Really great styling mousse, works for most styles. Schwartkopf got2be Blasting Freeze Spray - The ultimate hairstyle freeze spray. A bit of water and Goldwell Pump Freeze Spray helped me do these fine urban finger waves that Sara (the actress) and I loved...

Secaina keeps it real in her debut video for her track 'I Ain't With You'. No gimmicks, no fuss, just her, all filmed on Super 8 by Joseph Sinclair.
I kept her Make-up simple using MAC products. Strong brows, smudged eyeliner with a hint of neutral pink on the lips for the photo shoot and a red stained lip for the video. Hair simply scraped back into a ponytail.
This entire shoot really captures Secaina's laid back but no messing vibe... and she ain't messing, 'cause this is a TUNE if ever I've heard one!
Here's some behind the scenes pics... See if you can spot Wayne, Secainas manager multi-tasking to the max! Emailing / directing / being DJ / doggie sitting... is there no end to this mans talents?! And of course Joseph's unbelievably cute assistant, Stewie Sinclair the Yorkiepoo!

Get yer dancing shoes on. Here, is A*M*E's NEW video for her forthcoming single HEARTLESS and It's what you'd call, a proper pop anthem. Fact.
Had great time creating all the beautiful make-up looks on A*M*E using MAC make-up with a bit of Revlon and Topshop thrown in too. A*M*E's awesome dancers were made-up to look like gorgeous, graphic clones, with perfect skin, graphic black eyeliner, strong brows and bright lips, again using MAC. Obvs. I couldn't have done all A*M*E's make-up looks AND the 4 dancers make-up and hair all on my own so luckily I had assistance from Sally Watterson and Summer Dyason who did a great job with her dancers, thanks ladies!

OMG! I have been bursting to post about this since the video was released this week!
DRUM ROLL PLEASE... THIS is A*M*E's official debut single 'PLAY THE GAME BOY', written by A*M*E and Electric.
POPJUSTICE is bang on with their summary... "This is the bit where everyone who's enjoyed the A*M*E 'buzz tracks' suddenly goes "... HERE IS A BIG POP THING HAPPENING RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES", right? Right." RIGHT. Inspired by her love of K-POP, A*M*E wanted to look bright and really animated... YES! Out came a myriad of MAC Lip Mixes and Pigments to create über bright lips and eye brights ranging from MAC and NARS to BARRY M and MAYBELLINE (believe me, she's born with it!). It's safe to say... I. LOVED. EVERY. MINUTE!
PLAY THE GAME BOY will be released on Future/Universal on November 4th.
Check out this behind the scenes vid of A*M*E at the London 2012 Olympics where she performed 'Play The Game Boy' ahead of the Men's Boxing Final between Luke Campbell & John Joe Nevin at the Excel Arena.
For this look I used MACBlackground Paintpot with a bit of Nehru Eye Shadow on the eyes and good old Ruby Woo lipstick on the lips with a bit of Lady Danger mixed into the centre to give a bit more of a 3D lip.
I hand painted the silver star design on her left outer eye using an Urban Decay Silver Powder Eyeshadow mixed with a bit of MAC Mixing Medium to match her fab KTZ outfit, styled by Tamer Wilde and finally added a bit more bling with some small sparkly gems... et voila! READY TO ROCK THE GAMES!
